Right now I have 17-50mm f/2.8 Tamron XR Di II lens without VC (vibration compensation or Image Stabilizer in Canon world). It is a general purpose lens for my EOS 450D which I bought two years ago. While it serves me well until now but I think I need to upgrade for a better & wider range from wide to telephoto lens for me to carry around instead of several lens. Therefore, I no longer need fo change the lens for a EFS 70-200mm f/4.5 while shooting birds especially (while seldomly in nature mood).
I've reviewed this lens and read many comments from the blogger and Pros, 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 with Image Stabilizer (IS) should be enough for general usage. The retail price in Malaysia is close to RM3,000. Hmmm...I need to trade my present lens.
