My current data (consist of clients and personal photos, videos and documents) is hard to handle and search once stored in various medium and scattered in different PC storage. Having several PCs and laptop could be really cumbersome when accessing specific valuable data is concerned.

Presently, my total data accumulates almost 2TBs and that is quite huge. Losing a fraction of it will surely a disaster for me.Yeah, normal practice is burn ed to DVDs or stored on portable HDDs. But that really a fuss if you need to share among your family members for a certain data especially movies. My sisters do really love downloading animations and movies from the Internet or even exchange among her friends. I do casually copied to my storage first before decided to view them later which is rarely due to other task to be delivered first. And that leads to additional storage duplication. My sisters always complaining data lost she stored on the PC and portable HDDs. Well, here come the rescue...Click on Read more button below

Just imagine if you can ceate a central storage that all data, video, photos and documents in one single place. You can assigned which data is private and others shared as public all within the same network (LAN or Wi-Fi) or even over TCP/IP and Internet means via browser. Interesting isn't it? With  technology improvement, Network Attached Storage (NAS) has become affordable to SOHO and Home user today to cater the demand for centralized storage. To make it more versatile and interesting, NAS nowadays offer various features normally found in high end servers.

Most of the NAS produced lately featured at least smart backups with RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disk) whereby if one HDD fail will not affect the data integrity. Moreover, as the above model QNAP TS-419 or 410 (cheaper) which I aim to buy one very soon that supports dozens of features never found for last couple of years.

The most feature I like is the natively support for Joomla with built-in webserver, MySQL and PHPMyadmin. In fact you can host your own website hosting on this NAS server alone. Others, Bittorent, eMule, video, audio streaming to your setup box (if you have PSP2 or XBOX 360) or DIY setup box.

But my ultimate objectives is data storage with presently support storage up to 6TBs and more with new HDD capacity introduction.
