Recently, I just bought myself a new HD Multimedia Player online via Lelong e-commerce. China brand product that have identical or better features as compared to famous Medi8er and AC Ryan PlayonHD at a fraction of the price. And of course at a fraction of warranty as well.

But prior to that, I made thorough checking by googling first with respect to hardware capabilities, chipset, User Interface, storage capacity, input source and output format (audio & video) and firmware upgadeability.

Not to be missed definitely where to source it with the most reasonable price and the warranty after sales of course.

This player can support all type of Memory Card, be it SD, USB, xD or even CF card. It can house up to 2TB 3.5"desktop or 2.5" laptop Harddisk and can be upgraded later with the latest firmware. End of Part 1

What I like most about this kind of player is the playback & streaming capability that most DVD player don't have. I still have Phillips DVD that can playback DiVX & OGM but without soft subtitles rendering such as SRT files and SUB. But in the other hand, my HDPro player can handsomely play almost all kind of video, audio, photo, radio streaming, Bittorent downloading with any kind of format available nowadays. Just name it.

This player is also among my top list choice. Great review, great format supported and very user friendlier. on top of it, the device can turn as a NAS as well where it champions among the 3 devices I shortlisted.

Medi8er is considered a clone of AC Ryan PlayonHD due to almost similarities in terms of hardware & features wise capabilities. They share the same price range between RM5XX to RM6XX.

But the appearance seems to be less appealing to my eyes as AC Ryan PlayonHD. But anyhow, I still recommend to those who are looking for branded devices.

The warranty offered is just 1 year againts 2 year on AC Ryan PlayonHD. My HDPro?, Well, I guess I can just live with 6 months warranty given by the seller with the half price tag of the other two multimedia players. There are actually an abundance of China made player with cheaper price tag but less quality I presume. Mine is brushed aluminum made metal enclosure.

My next wish list is the NAS & JDownloader embedded as I am currently subscribed both to Hotfile & Rapidshare Premium account. But I doubt it will be introduced anytime sooner. Well, my next gadget will be Full Blown Dedicated NAS to store my overload storage that reaches 3TB.

8 May 2010 - Pantai Pandak Chendering, KT. Agak lewat sampai ke destinasi untuk shooting landskap pagi, 6.40am. Sham memberikan teknik foto landskap menggunakan penapis (filter) Chokin Pro-Z. TQ bro sebab kasi pinjam. Foto di atas (saudara Shah) juga menggunakan Chokin Pro-Z ihsan Sham Khaleefa. Tapi foto yang aku ambik di atas nampak kesan filter kat bahagian "upper body" Shah.

Warna batu-batuan yang agak gelap tone menyebabkan keseluruhan "Foreground" menjadi agak gelap dan tidak seimbang dengan "Background". Read more...

EOS DSLR Shutter Count

Would you like to know what is your present EOS DSLR shutter counts? Does it really important to know? Yes if you intend to sell or buy second hand body. Knowing your DSLR used shutter counts is also important so that you can estimate your DSLR remaining lifespan. However, by default you can't determine your Canon EOS series SC unless you send them to Canon Service Center. This is part of their marketing / commercial purposes.

Once your camera reaches the SC lifespan, you don't have any other choice other than sending back to the Canon Service Center or buy a whole new body. Cost for replacing shutter counts module may reach up to RM800 or more depending on your specific model series.

To download the utility, click on the image on your left. It only works for EOS series with DiIGIC III & IV except 1DS and mostly workable for EOS series made prior to year 2010. This is a 3rd party utility without any warranty or eligible for any responsibility.

Tips: It is not recommended to buy used DSLR body unless the seller is genuine and wise enough to indicate their DSLR SC. It is cheaper in terms of investment to buy new body instead but subjected to which model you are looking for.

I just sold mine yesterday morning to a nice gentleman in Kuala Terengganu just before I attended Nikon workshop at Grand Continental for only RM1,580 and complete set with an extended warranty. That gentleman is a teacher by profession.
